[*] MODERATOR: Good afternoon. Thank you for joining us for today's crew news conference with the Expedition-18 crew and the American space flight participant.

We'll begin today's briefing by introducing the crew, and then we'll take questions here from media at the Johnson Space Center, and then followed by other participating NASA centers.

We'll start with Expedition-18 commander, Mike Fincke. Mike joined NASA in April of 1996. In 2004 he served as the NASA science officer and flight engineer for the Expedition-9. He spent six months working aboard the ISS, including four space walks. He's spent more than 187 days in space and has logged a total of 15 hours and 45 minutes of EVA time.

He and two crewmates are scheduled to launch on October 12th aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. Once there, they'll conduct a change of command ceremony with Expedition-17 crew, and that will mark the start of Expedition-18.
