[*] MODERATOR: Mr. Secretary, thank you very much. I think many in this room will have noted the emphasis that you placed in your remarks on the need to find new and innovative ways to connect the states of Central Asia to those of South and East Asia, and also, your appeal for the countries represented in this room to share their knowledge on security sector reform, on counterterrorism, narcotics control, and on the training of ministers and civil society.

And I think it was also important to have heard your optimism about the potential progress in U.S.-China military-to-military relations. The Secretary is kindly agreed to take questions, so as I indicated, if you could raise your name plates and keep them raised for a moment, so I can capture as many of you as possible. QUESTION: Mr. Secretary, a personal thank you for a broad spectrum and thoughtful speech. In your presentation, you very naturally talked about Iran and the threats posed in terms of nuclear proliferation.
