DECEMBER 14, 2007SPEAKER: SEN. KEN SALAZAR, D-COLO.[*] SALAZAR: This is U.S. Senator Ken Salazar. Thank you for being on the call this afternoon. It's been a good week for America. We have passed an energy bill which puts us on a pathway forward toward energy independence. It embraces a new future with respect to biofuels and alternative energies. It implements for the first time in 30 years the kind of fuel efficiency program that'll wean us off of our dependence on foreign oil. And it takes us forward in a step to dealing with the issue of global warming through carbon sequestration. So I'm proud of that bill.We also, in probably less than an hour here, will be getting to final passage of the 2007 farm bill.
