[*] HICKMAN: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Majinway (ph), my best Gaelic. It's improved a little bit, but not much. Thank you very much for coming. Welcome to the National Press Club and the final two months of our centennial year -- we're 100 years old -- and another NPC morning newsmaker. And also happy Saint Patrick's Day eve, at least in a couple of hours.

Before introducing this morning's newsmaker, let me make the usual announcements. There is a recording being made of the club. The news conference has developed Newsmakers, and members may access the audio file on the club website, and others may purchase a copy of the CD, I guess it is -- something called an audio file, from the broadcast operations center on the fourth floor, which is 202-662- 7510.

Thirdly, there's a couple of other Newsmakers coming up that those of you interested in foreign affairs might want to come to. On March the 30th, we have the president of Rotary International, Dr. Dong Kurn Lee, on his organization's fundraising for polio eradication.

And then on April 15th, Dr. Michael Chin, the vice president of Taiwan's Bureau of National Health Insurance, will talk about his country's experience in that field.

And then finally, there's some material on this morning's Newsmaker, which you may already have.
