[*] CASEY: Well, good afternoon, everyone. Happy Thursday. Don't have any opening statements or announcements, so I guess we'll get right to your questions.

QUESTION: Kendall Myers, from your Bureau of Intelligence and Research, gave a lecture on Wednesday when he described the myth of a special relationship between the U.K. and the U.S., and suggested that the British should break with the U.S. and attach itself to Europe.

Now, the State Department's already disowned these comments, but he advertised himself as a State Department employee and spoke of himself as a State Department employee.

Is his position as a State Department official tenable at this point?

CASEY: Well, let me try and recap where we are on this, and then I'll get to the specific point in your question.
